about
The Piano Studio is an official sponsor of the Annual Seattle International Piano Festival and Competition.
The inagural 2008 competition had categories that ranged from Youth to Professional, with cash prizes and a Benaroya Hall recital ! The level of playing was truly spectacular and we congratulate the SIPF on an auspicious beginning to what will be a yearly event that adds incredible richness to the cultural scene in Seattle.
The Piano Studio is a full service digital recording studio located on the northeast ridge of Capitol Hill, Seattle. If you are in need of a recording studio in the Seattle area, please consider us. We have the finest pro tools equipment available, reasonable rates, and a piano you honestly won't want to quit playing - one of the finest grands you can record on in a Seattle area studio. SAMPLES! (NEW)
You won't be intimidated at The Piano Studio. You won't have engineers staring at you while you record - the control room is discreetly upstairs, and you're left free in the main room to just be yourself and sound your best.
While we do specialize in producing first class piano tracks, we love to record singers. guitarists, jazz trios, opera divas and rock bands as well - drums and other acoustic instruments sound outstanding in our lively main tracking room.
We have a 365 square foot live tracking room in a converted home with a peaceful organic garden outside and calming views of Lake Washington and the Cascades. Plus, there's unrestricted parking all around.
The house engineer is Alex Rose, but we welcome independent engineers. The studio is owned by pianist Martin Buff.
Contact us, we'd love to give you a tour!
quote
"I highly recommend The Piano Studio. The room sounds great, the mics are flawless, and the Baldwin piano is one of the top studio instruments in town. If you want a really distinctive-sounding piano, that's a cut above the vanilla-sounding Yamaha C-7, then don't go to the big studios. You will save money and get a better result by going to The Piano Studio."
